Kurt was born near Tokyo and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning a BA degree from California State University, Northridge in Television Broadcasting, he worked as a script coordinator on such shows as The X-Files, Smallville, Hercules and Xena.

After 14 years working in network television, Kurt switched careers; enrolling in UCLA’s prestigious Interior Architecture graduate program.

While attending UCLA full-time, Kurt worked as a project manager for a design/build firm and as an design associate for a residential/hospitality designer. Kurt graduated from UCLA with honors, and soon after established Kurt Langenhahn Designs.

From 2015-2019, Kurt was cast as the featured designer on three episodes of HGTV’s House Hunters Renovation. All three designs were delivered on time and budget.
